Happy Mother’s Day! 7 money saving tips for new Moms
Posted on May 10th, 2009 No comments
In celebration of Mother’s day, we figured it would be worthwhile to post a few tips for first time Moms on how to save a few dollars along this new and exciting journey called parenthood. We hope you enjoy these tips and if you have any of your own please feel free to leave them in the comment section below.1 Buy clothing from a thrift store or from Garage sales. Babies grow so quickly that you may want to consider buying some clothing a few sizes bigger than they actually are. If everything fits perfectly they’re going to grow out of it in no time.
2 Borrow clothing or baby gear off of friends. Unless they are planning on having another baby in the near future, chances are likely they’ll be more than happy to help you out with your new little bundle of joy. And most of the time “borrow” means “Here. Take it. I don’t want to see it again unless it’s on your kid”
3 Wait until after your baby shower to start buying clothing or gear. You’ll never know what you’ll receive!
4 Resist the urge to go all out decorating your new babies room! While this seems like a right of passage, you’re only going to be redecorating it a couple years down the road. If you must, keep it minimal and gender neutral. If you have another child of a different gender, you’ll want them to feel comfortable too.
